Master of Applied Finance

The minimum education requirement for entry into this course is either:

  • a related* Undergraduate Degree or Graduate Diploma from a recognised Higher Education provider (including National Office of Overseas Skills Recognition), or
  • an unrelated Undergraduate Degree or Graduate Diploma from a recognised Higher Education provider (including National Office of Overseas Skills Recognition), plus 2 years related industry experience^, or
  • other academic and/or professional qualifications.

^ Related industry experience can include, but is not limited to:

  • working for financial institution(s) in position(s) with exposure to aspects of the industry
  • managing a business for at least 2 years
  • self-employed roles in trading or related areas.

Non-degree Entry may be granted to applicants with appropriate industry experience and/or academic or professional qualifications.

Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance

The minimum education requirement for entry into this course is either:

  • a related* Undergraduate Degree or Graduate Certificate from a recognised Higher Education provider (including National Office of Overseas Skills Recognition), or
  • an unrelated Undergraduate Degree, Graduate Certificate, Advanced Diploma or Diploma from a recognised Higher Education provider (including National Office of Overseas Skills Recognition), plus 2 years related industry experience^, or
  • other academic and/or professional qualifications.

Graduate Certificate in Applied Finance

The minimum education requirement for entry into this course is either:

  • a related* Undergraduate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma from a recognised higher education provider, TAFE or RTO provider (including National Office of Overseas Skills Recognition), or
  • an unrelated Undergraduate Degree, Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma from a recognised higher education provider, TAFE or RTO provider (including National Office of Overseas Skills Recognition) plus 2 years related industry experience^, or
  • other academic and/or professional qualifications.

Non-degree Entry

You may enter a postgraduate course based on industry expertise and/or academic and/or professional qualifications deemed appropriate.

Headstart Program

Limited places are available for university students in their final semester of undergraduate study or Kaplan Professional students in their final study of an open-entry Diploma to enrol in up to 2 core subjects on a provisional basis. Open-entry Diplomas will require relevant industry experience to accompany the application for Headstart entry.

Other entry requirements

Applicants whose undergraduate degree was not completed in English, or whose work in the finance industry was not carried out in English, must demonstrate English proficiency to the overall band score of 6.5 in the IELTS test with a minimum score of 6.0 for each section of the test.

A minimum score of 6.0 in each of the IELTS bands is needed due to the components of the courses and the need to communicate in a verbal and written form that requires superior understanding of the English language.

A minimum score of 575 on the paper-based TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) with a TWE rating of 5 or a minimum score of 273 on the computer-based TOEFL with an essay rating of 5 will also be accepted.

A certified copy of the IETLS or TEOFL results must be submitted with the enrolment form and other entry requirement documentation as applicable.
