*N.B. that other licensing eligibility criteria also apply. Refer to www.reba.wa.gov.au.

Program Information

In Western Australia, a licensed Real Estate and Business Agent must complete a Diploma of Property (Real Estate) or be assessed as competent in any of the units within the Diploma by a Registered Training Organisation. Kaplan Professional’s licensing programs fulfil these requirements.

Our licensing programs are available in two formats, so you can choose the program that best suits you.

Real Estate and Business Agent’s Intensive Licence Program (ILP)

This program allows you to have your experience and skills recognised so that you can earn your qualification after completing just two four-day workshops, meaning you can apply for your licence sooner.

By recognising your past experience we can reduce the classroom study time required to just eight days. Any units not recognised can be completed via self-study.

Real Estate and Business Agent’s Licence Program

This program also takes your past experience and learning into account which means you may not need to complete—or pay for—all of the units. Any units not recognised can be completed by self-study.

The Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process is used to determine which program is suitable to your needs and experience.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

RPL is a formal assessment process to assist applicants to gain accreditation toward the requirements for the Real Estate & Business Agent's Licence Program. It formally recognises the skills and knowledge earned by learning from other courses, life experience, work experience or any training provided at work. These components are then measured against the requirements of the program.

The RPL process requires the presentation of evidence to support claims for recognition of competency. The type of evidence that can be presented in support of a RPL application can take many different forms. It can be verbal, written or a demonstration of skill.
